PATTON BOGGS REGULATORY PRACTICE

AN INSIDE PERSPECTIVE.

Since our founding in 1962, Patton Boggs has built its reputation representing clients in areas where law, business and government intersect. No aspect of managing this intersection is more important or complex than the field of regulatory law, an area in which Patton Boggs excels. Today’s regulatory world is rapidly changing, with many businesses finding themselves in a maze of evolving regulations and increased government scrutiny. Our in-depth perspective provides clients with the critical advice necessary to navigate the complex administrative and regulatory law landscape.

The firm received a number 1 ranking in the 2009 edition of Chambers USA in the area of Government Relations (National). The firm was also awarded a 2009 GOLD AWARD for Regulatory and Government Affairs by the International Legal Alliance Summit.

The firm defended and opposed mergers and acquisitions on behalf of multinational corporations before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department Of Justice, the Federal Communications Commission and other agencies of the federal government and the European Union.

THE RIGHT TEAM.

Complementing our regulatory team is a deep roster of attorneys with strong backgrounds in financial services, and many more underlying disciplines that affect business, as well as those who have an up-to-the-minute view and understanding of how developments on Capitol Hill could help or hurt Wall Street and Main Street. Teaming with colleagues across offices and practices, our attorneys allow each client access to the broad scope of professionals who practice in business, litigation, policy and intellectual property, providing the potential for a holistic approach to every client matter.

The firm worked to convince the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to allow an Australian company control over some aspects of Interstate 495 (the Capital Beltway), successfully preserving a $1.4 billion concession and showing that the project would not pose any national or homeland security concerns.
